This is an introductory level course.

It distils into 1 day the principles that all data architects should know.

It is useful for those establishing an in-house data architecture team.

It includes paper exercises, but involves no coding and there is no use of technology.

Experience required

This course covers some of the syllabus for the Certificate In Data Management Essentials offered by the Information Systems Examinations Board (ISEB), but is not formally associated with it.

Delegates should have drawn a data model or entity-attribute-relationship model. People with more experience are welcome. You should find the course to be useful as a ground-breaker for the 4-day System/Solution Architecture course, which contains about 80% of content listed below.

Data models and their use to declare business rules.

Enterprise Architecture – based on TOGAF.

Data Architecture Deliverables – Top Ten Data Architecture Views and Models.

Enterprise Domain Model – case study exercise,

Process Decomposition and Data Services - as in SOA.
